Summary0000623: Ctrl+Alt+Tab does no longer work on Vista for detaching a console process
DescriptionCtrl+Alt+Tab used to detach a running console process from the Far window into a standalone console window. Far would be usable again, then. In Windows Vista Microsoft changed some keyboard shortcut and added Ctrl+Alt+Tab for Alt+Tab where the dialog remains open until explicitly selecting a window to switch to. Since this shortcut is grabbed by the window manager it no longer gets through to Far.

So now there is no way of detaching a long-running process from a Far window on Windows Vista. Maybe another keyboard shortcut needs to be found (trying to steal it from the window manager might not be the best idea).

And where's problem?
You may assign any other free shortcut (e.g. CtrlShiftTab) for detach via TechInfo #27.

But, perhaps it makes sense to change the default value, yes.
