Summary | 0002895: Unable to access Netware volumes through CIFS | ||||
Description | With the new FAR 3.0 (both x64 and x86) it is not possible to access a Netware file server through the CIFS protocol (e.g. \\server\vol1). Following error is raised: Access denied You need to provide administrator permission to open this object: \\?\UNC\server\vol1\ OK/Skip When selecting Skip following additional error message comes up: Error Access is denied. \\server\vol1 Far 1.x and 2.x does _not_ have this issue. | ||||
Steps To Reproduce | Start Far Manager 3.0 (x86 or x64) on a network with a Netware file server which has CIFS enabled and configured. In Far Manager use either browse network or use command line: cd \\server\vol1 error message will come up | ||||

Far 2.0.1807 already has this issue Far 2.0.981 does not have this issue Additional info: if user has 'R' (Netware) right in root folder on Volume this issue does not appear |
