Summary | 0003993: built-in plugin "Advanced compare" (called with F11) mistakenly reports "some files couldn't been opened"
Description | The built-in plugin "Advanced compare" (called with F11) mistakenly reports "some files couldn't been opened" if in coincident directory trees to process at both left and right panels there are equal files having filename ended with the "." (point) symbol. For example, "FAQ.comp.text.tex." . Such files are nevertheless admissible and completely accessible using Far Manager, other ops with them are correct. Thank you!
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Place the same file with such a name to both the left AND the right panels. e.g. "qfig3ple." from CTAN distribution; 2. Press F11 to perform panel vs. panel "Advanced compare"; 3. Select the following comparison settings: [x] subfolders [ ] maximum folder depth: 99 [ ] selected items only Compare: [ ] time [x] size [x] contents [ ] ignore: 4. Press Ok to do compare 5. The red pop-up tablet occurs: "some files couldn't been opened"
Additional Information | I experience this behavior for at least 3 years with different Far manger versions.
